Downhill
2022
I was inspired to create this collage due to the constant discussions about climate change and global warming. I intend to present a contrast between the current state of the environment and its past. I scanned images from old magazines and arranged them to reflect my vision. I placed an image of a forest fire alongside dry land to represent the present. I depicted images of icebergs, fresh water, and plants to represent the past. By tilting the images, I aimed to convey the downward trend in the world’s climate, as represented by the cyclist.

Rice Fields
2019
I created this collage to reminisce about the agriculture and farming life I’ve witnessed in my home country, the Philippines. I browsed through an old magazines and found various images, including a farmer and the iconic rice terraces in the Philippines. I carefully cut out both images from the magazine and scanned them into my computer. Then, I rearranged and combined the scanned images in Adobe Photoshop to visually represent the distinctive agricultural practices that characterize my country.
