Kwanzaa 2023 Instagram Post Graphic
I was tasked with designing a graphic to commemorate Kwanzaa, a celebration that honours African-American culture. To ensure the accuracy of the graphic, I conducted some research on the celebration. Based on my research, Kwanzaa is associated with three primary colours: red, green, and black, each with significant meanings. I incorporated these colours along with prominent Kwanzaa elements like the harvest and seven candles into the design to represent the celebration accurately.

Diwali 2023 Instagram Post Graphic
As the hospital gears up for the upcoming Diwali, also known as the “Festival of Lights,” I was tasked with designing an Instagram post graphic for the festival. My senior coworker suggested creating a slide carousel on Instagram that would inform the audience about Diwali. To achieve this, I conducted thorough research on Diwali’s significance and traditions, translating my findings into concise and simple text that would be featured on the graphic. In terms of design, I carefully selected colours and graphic elements that are deeply rooted in the celebration. Also, I chose a vibrant yellow text colour to highlight the important information presented in the text. Ultimately, the Communications team ultimately decided to limit the post to a single slide to maintain consistency with our previous celebratory posts.

Thanksgiving 2023 Instagram Post Graphic
For the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration, the hospital will be sharing greetings on its Instagram account, and I was asked to design a simple graphic to accompany the post. Drawing inspiration from the iconic symbols of Thanksgiving, I decorated the graphic’s border with various elements like pumpkins and autumn leaves. A greeting of “Happy Thanksgiving” was placed in the center, and below it, I added an illustration of a pumpkin. I selected autumnal colors like beige, orange, and green, which are the colors associated with the season. I also created two variations of the graphics and presented them to my senior co-workers, who ultimately chose which one to post.

Interpretation Services Instagram Post Graphics
For International Translation Day, I went with my colleague and took photos of the translator device found at the hospital. Then, I edited the photos on Canva to brighten them and incorporated descriptions of the device on each slide which was provided by my coworker.

Vaccines: Fact or Myth Instagram Story Graphics
Instagram Story
Since the flu season was approaching, I was assigned with creating engaging graphics for an Instagram story to educate the hospital’s audience about the myths and facts surrounding vaccines. I researched common vaccine myths and presented them in a way that would capture the audience’s attention. To make the story interactive, I included a Poll Sticker where viewers could choose whether each statement was a fact or a myth. The next slide would then reveal the truth behind the statement. I also ensured that the sources of my information were clearly cited at the bottom of the story.
